It’s time to evict the aphids. I’ve lost too many plants. Daddy has found some great info on garlic juice. I’m more than game. Anyone have any thoughts on this?
We have currently hatched thirty chicks this season.
The beets are coming up and the kale and chard should be ready for harvest over the next few weeks.
We completely planted our swallow field, about 3/5 of an acre, on Friday the 2nd.
Bluebird field, about 2/5 of an acre, will be planted soon.

An easy way to help control these pests is to place banana peels around the base of the plants.
The pests do not like the potassium in the peels.

What a helpful and easy solution. I’ve used banana peels for potassium enrichment before but never for aphids. How exciting! I will try it today.
The garlic is working well to repel the aphids, but we are having consistent (thankfully) rain. This washes the solution off and here they come again.
Our ladybugs are now out in full force and they are doing a lot to help.
