The storm knocked most of my tomatoes down, but mine are blight free so far--late but coming on pretty well. The rain sure brought my beans out tho--bigger picking than I've had all summer. Corn is late and not much of it either, but hoping for better next year. I'm tending a cottage garden just for family and using organic methods, just found your site and plan to come look around when I can.

The only legal method of selling raw dairy is through a CSA. You aren't selling the dairy products, you are selling a share of the herd or flock. The CSA members are drinking the milk of THEIR OWN sheep, goats, or cows.
There are some farmers who sell raw milk to the public. It is illegal and risky for ignorant reasons, of course. But illegal all the same. The only way raw milk can be sold to the public is for Pet Consumption only. A farmer can only sell you the milk for your cat, dog, or whatever. This is strictly enforced.
Thanks,
Breann

An interesting blog entry about Dean Foods, making both Horizon and Silk products: http://markcrispinmiller.com/2009/07/milk-alert-boycott-both-horizon-and-silk.html. In fact, this news is all over the internet. I will be boycotting Horizon now, and buying the competing organic milk brand sold in most stores: Stonyfield. Are any local organic brands of milk or daily products available?

My husband and I have been looking for Raw Milk for a good year now. It is against the law to sell it. That is so upsetting that I would have to break the law to feed my family a healthy milk. So if anyone has the raw unpasteurized milk for sale....let me know. :)

It absolutely contributes to lactose intolerance, in my personal experience. Humans aren't able to digest the A1 protein which builds up the lactose sugars, something like that. I don't understand all the science but I do know that I have been lactose intolerant all my life, like most of Cherokee or Native American descent esp. when mixed with a sensitive Irish stomach, and I can drink A2 milk. I'm drinking it right now as a matter of fact.
But I would only recommend raw, because of the enzyme factor.

Wonder if this A1 milk contributes to lactose intolerance in humans. I can't drink cow's milk because of this, and even yogurt is something that I can't take too much of, and I really love yogurt. *Sigh*
